Mission Statement
The mission of the ICC4 Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive, data-driven program that supports the academic, social-emotional, and career development of all students. Through collaborative partnerships with students, families, staff, and the community, we aim to empower and inspire all students to reach their full potential, become lifelong learners, and contribute positively to society. We are committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment that values diversity, promotes equity, and respects the unique strengths and needs of each individual student.
Developmental Domains
of School Counseling
The three Developmental Domains of school counseling, which are Academic, Career, and Social/Emotional Learning, serve as a framework for student growth and development. The ICC4 Counseling Department recognizes the importance of each of these domains and aims to support and enhance student success in each area.
Academic
The Academic Domain focuses on students' academic achievement, skills, and attitudes. The ICC4 School Counseling Department supports students by providing academic counseling services that help them develop study skills, time management, organization, and goal setting. School counselors collaborate with teachers and families to ensure that students are provided with appropriate academic support and interventions when needed. Counselors also provide information and guidance on course selection, graduation requirements, college admission processes, and post-secondary education options.
Career
The Career Domain focuses on students' career development and readiness. The ICC4 School Counseling Department helps students explore their interests, skills, and values to make informed decisions about their future career paths. School counselors provide career counseling services that help students develop career goals, explore career options, and develop job search skills. Counselors also provide information on apprenticeships, internships, college programs, and other post-secondary education and training options.
Social/Emotional Learning
The Social/Emotional Learning Domain focuses on students' social and emotional development. The ICC4 School Counseling Department helps students develop social skills, emotional regulation, self-awareness, and decision-making skills. Counselors provide individual and group counseling services that address issues related to mental health, substance abuse, stress, and personal relationships. Counselors also provide information on community resources and referrals for students who require additional support outside of school. The aim is to support students in developing healthy relationships, self-awareness, and resiliency.
Our Ethical Obligations and Limits of Confidentiality
The ICC4 School counseling department recognizes the importance of confidentiality in maintaining a trusting and safe environment for all students. As such, our counselors are ethically obligated to keep all student information confidential, except when disclosure is necessary to prevent clear and imminent danger to the student or others or when legal requirements demand that confidential information be revealed.
The limits to confidentiality for our counseling department include, but are not limited to, the following situations:

When a student or legal guardian gives written consent to share information with a specific person or agency or when a court order or legal obligation requires the disclosure of information
